The Orion

Overview

The Orion is the premier interactive data collection terminal. The large two line display gives the user interactive use of the terminal to record time & attendance activity, tips, accruals, facility access control, print reports, and more. The on-screen menus allow supervisors to insert, edit, or delete activity. These same menus allow employees to view the in/out board, view their activity, and review their accrual totals.

The Orion can be configured as an access control, Time & Attendance, and job cost data collection device. When not being used for access control, the Orion can also be configured to ring bells with the standard internal relay. The Orion has many methods for data entry. The Orion can be equipped with an HID proximity, Synel proximity, barcode, magnetic stripe, or external hand held reader. The Orion can also have no reader and the keypad can be used for data collection.

The Orion has six different ways to connect to the InfiniTime Labor Management System. The Orion can commuinicate via RS-232 (Direct to PC), RS-485 (Direct to PC) TCP/IP Ethernet (Network), Modem (Telephone), WI-Fi 802.11 (Wireless) or Bluetooth Class II (Wireless). This allows the Orion to fit seamlessly into any computing environment.

How it works

User friendly interactive menus make the Orion very easy to use. The internal menu system allows users to quickly choose the activity they want to perform. From department transfers to entering tip amounts, the menu walks the user through the entire process. The same menu system allows supervisors to perform time inserts, edits, and deletes at the terminal itself. Which eliminates the need for supervisors to have a computer to do routine functions.

The Orion is capable of gathering user information in several ways. The keypad allows the employee to enter a unique PIN and password or the employee can use a badge. The Orion is a “swipe and go” system and users never need to select “in” or “out” during the time & attendance process.

The data collected by the Orion terminal is then sent to the InfiniTime Labor Management System. With InfiniTime detailed reports can be generated, exceptions tracked, and data passed on to payroll for check processing.

Applications

The Orion is capable of performing multiple roles in your organization. The Orion can be configured to simultaneously provide access control, Time & Attendance, and job costing functions. This makes the Orion prime for a fast return on investment.

The Orion’s flexibility is premier. With six different connection methods and the six ways it collects data, the Orion fits in the infrastructure of any organization.

The Orion is a key element to the InfiniTime Labor Management system and pays for itself with the return on investment that it provides. The Orion is one of only a few business purchases that pays for itself in no time at all!!!
